Summary

MIL Corporation is seeking a Financial Analysis Associate (Senior Financial Data Analyst) to work with a federal client in Washington DC. The Senior Financial Data Analyst analyzes relevant information from a variety of sources to prepare documents, reports, summaries and responses to inquiries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate format of information provided. You will join a team providing a full range of functional and performance management support for ongoing financial management activities, including but not limited to auditable financial statement support, management capabilities and strategic planning, policy development and governance, financial system implementation and maintenance, operational support and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in ad hoc data projects and analyzes that produce actionable recommendations that create relevant insights for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collect data and run reports in response to customer requests
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure knowledge of customer requirements to support the development of best-in-class analytical solutions
  • Accurately manage required data across multiple repositories, documents and/or spreadsheets
  • Support quarterly accounts payable and trust account reconciliations and validations
  • Support analysis and reconciliation of quarterly advance payments
  • Reconciliation of support fund balance with cash (FBwT)
  • Participate in the reconciliation of fixed assets (fixed assets)
  • Manage and conduct validation and audit procedures for undelivered orders (UDO)
  • Validate prior year bond adjustments
  • Support financial statement reporting procedures
  • Participate in the analysis of financial reports and the cancellation of the closure of the account
  • Contribute to the execution of quarterly and annual financial statements and audit requirements A-123
  • Provide support for the annual financial audit
  • Lead and maintain financial data and reporting development processes
  • Advise on accounting operations, business process improvements and implementation of emerging requirements

Qualifications required

  • Eight or more years of experience in data analysis
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial documents
  • Ability to solve problems involving multiple options in situations
  • Advanced financial analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a federal financial management environment
  • Experience querying or extracting complex data from a large-scale database, preferably using an SQL-based tool.

Desired diplomas

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Access and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of Momentum Financials.
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or your willingness to get vaccinated.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

Current active Top Secret clearance required
